📚 Course 1: ENG2D Preparation

Goal: Build the Skills Needed to Succeed in Ontario High School English

Best for: Grades 8–10 | Intermediate English Language Learners (ELLs) | Students entering ENG2D

This course builds the essential reading, writing, and language skills required for success in Ontario secondary school English.

What Students Will Learn:

  • Write clear, structured academic paragraphs
  • Improve reading comprehension and inference skills
  • Build essential academic vocabulary
  • Use correct grammar in writing
  • Participate in guided academic discussions

Why This Course Matters:

Many international students don’t struggle with ideas, they struggle with expressing those ideas in Ontario academic writing conventions. This course closes that gap.

👉 Ideal preparation for ENG2D and mainstream high school English.

📝 Course 2: OSSLT Preparation

Goal: Help students successfully pass the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT)

Best for: Grades 9–10 | Intermediate English Language Learners (ELLs)

The Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT) is required for graduation. This course develops the reading and writing skills needed to succeed under timed exam conditions.

What Students Will Learn:

  • OSSLT question formats and expectations
  • Opinion and news-style writing responses
  • Reading comprehension and inference strategies
  • Timed writing techniques
  • Grammar and sentence structure improvement

Why This Course Matters:

Students often struggle not because of content, but because they are unfamiliar with Ontario-style tasks and time pressure. This course builds speed, clarity, and confidence.

👉 Focused preparation for OSSLT success.

📖 Course 3: ENG3U Preparation

Goal: Prepare students for success in Grade 11 University English (ENG3U)

Best for: Grades 10–12 | ENG3U students | University-bound learners

This advanced course prepares students for the demands of Ontario’s university-stream English courses, where success depends on analytical thinking and structured academic writing.

What Students Will Learn:

  • Write structured 5-paragraph academic essays
  • Develop strong thesis statements and arguments
  • Analyze literature using textual evidence and quotations
  • Understand themes, symbolism, and author intent
  • Strengthen academic speaking and discussion skills

Why This Course Matters:

Ontario university-level English is fast-paced and analytical. Students without strong essay structure and critical thinking skills often fall behind. This course ensures full readiness.
